The Americas Ensemble is an exciting group whose members have collectively performed for national and international audiences, presented hundreds of programs for young listeners  and are passionate about connecting with people from all cultures.

The group takes the listener on an inspired sound journey with music that fuses classical, contemporary, Caribbean, Latin and world styles. The ensemble’s repertoire draws from each member’s individual histories and influences, with rich arrangements, music by contemporary composers and original works.

Deeply committed to the idea that music is an essential tool for communication and education, The America’s ensemble program includes a segment targeted to school age youth and families that features the music of Puerto Rico and Latin America. The highly interactive musical segment engages the audience in playing hand percussion instruments (provided by the group), rhythmic clapping and overall fun! At the same time, creating greater awareness of Puerto Rico as part of the United States.

The members of The Americas Ensemble core members are Daniel Salazar, Director and guitarist; Lorena Garay, guitar and Gonzalo Cortes, flute and Andean wind instruments. They reflect an important demographic of today’s America; a first-generation son of immigrant Mexican parents, a Puerto Rican, and a Latin American immigrant who worked hard to establish a life in the U.S. and became a citizen. They are passionate about using their music to create a clearer global perspective of American culture today.

The Americas Ensemble is available for concert venues, school and university programs and workshops, and Latin Heritage Month events.
